About RE:PLACE

‘RE:PLACE’ aims to activate a response-able education which can implement creative practices to deal with living in the anthropocene and explore how to live during a socio-ecological crisis.

This is the second edition of the project, which has already started in 2021 as an Honours Lab at the Radboud University (Nijmegen) and ArtEZ. From November 2021, we are a new group of 13 students and researchers. One of the main goals of RE:PLACE is to create alternative places and ways of learning. Starting off with participating as a group in an utopian action research, we are going through three different phases of developing an alternative education system. After the first phase of strongly criticising the current education system based on our own personal experiences, we go through the utopian phase where we imagine our ideal education environment or ‘visioning the impossible’.

In the final phase of realisation, we are now co-creating a transformative program of workshops, social activities and lectures in order to create a community which we can extend beyond our personal relations.
