Over Fundacion ABO

Fundacion ABO is the national coordination foundation for population-based cancer screening in Aruba. Our role is simple but powerful, we make early detection accessible, understandable, and close to the community so people can take action before illness becomes crisis.

We guide residents through three screening programs that protect health at different stages of life: breast cancer screening, cervical cancer screening, and colorectal cancer screening. These programs are designed for people without symptoms and are offered at recommended intervals to detect changes early, when treatment is most effective and outcomes are strongest.

Beyond coordinating invitations and eligibility pathways, we support individuals step by step through the screening journey. That includes providing information in multiple languages, helping people understand results, connecting them with follow-up care when needed, and removing practical barriers that often delay participation. Prevention works best when it feels human, not complicated.

Our work extends into neighborhoods, workplaces, community groups, and healthcare partnerships across the island. Through education sessions, outreach activities, and collaboration with employers and organizations, we help normalize screening as a routine act of self-care and responsibility to family and community.

As a nonprofit public health foundation, we also offer free informational sessions for companies and organizations that want to support the wellbeing of their teams. When workplaces make room for prevention, participation rises and lives are protected.

Early detection is not only a medical step. It is a quiet commitment to yourself, to the people who love you, and to the future we share as a community.
