Windpark Zeewolde B.V. is owned by a unique collaboration of more than 200 farmers. It is an initiative in local ownership outside the energy companies. With 320 MW it is also the largest local initiative in the Netherlands. It is also the largest wind project onshore in the Netherlands. The current 220 scattered mills make way for 91 larger, more modern turbines that together generate two and a half times more energy. As from 2020, Windpark Zeewolde will supply green electricity for more than a quarter of a million households.
