About UNICEF Student Team Maastricht

The UNICEF Student Team Maastricht was founded in 2009. The team consists of a board, committee members, and general volunteers. There are five main committees: Public Relations, Fundraising, Internal Affairs, Education and Awareness and the Podcast committee. Additionally, we have around 140 General Volunteers, who contribute their time and efforts to the events planned and carried out by the team.

Active in 190 countries, UNICEF’s mission is to help children all over the world in poverty, disease, and violence by providing healthcare and education. To achieve this, we organize various events for fundraising and awareness. The collected funds then flow directly to official UNICEF projects to support children in need.

In 2025-2026, we are focused on improving the quality of STEM education in India. Together with 15 other teams in the Netherlands, we are raising funds to support and expand the ATAL Tinkering Labs (ATLs) program in Indian schools. These labs provide students with hands-on opportunities to apply their knowledge and explore technology creatively.

In addition to our main project of the year, we’re also fundraising to support UNICEF’s emergency response efforts in Gaza, Ukraine and Sudan.
