About The Calliope Prize

The Calliope Prize-The Hague University's Public Speaking Contest is a chance for students from across the whole university to meet each other, to compete and to improve and practice their public speaking skills in two rounds. Moreover, it offers a platform for the talent of students studying at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. It is also a place for fun and first and foremost friendly relations between students from all over the faculties gathering around a common passion, the passion of public speaking and eloquence.

This contest came into being as a significant number of jobs require employees to do presentations or to be persuasive when faced with potential clients for their company. The skills acquired through this contest will help students in their future career, to give a better speeches and pitches on these occasions. This contest can even help students to give a better presentation for their future job interviews, and this, thanks to the self-confidence and the oratory skills acquired.
