SC Veendam (founded on September 4, 1894) is one of the oldest professional Dutch football clubs. The club became became professional in 1954, when the Dutch professional league was introduced. SC Veendam is playing in the Jupiler League, the second tier of football in the Netherlands. Home ground is the famous 'Gjaltema-stadion aan de Langeleegte', also known as 'De Langeleegte'.
