What is the K.N.P.S.V.?

The General Dutch Pharmaceutical Students Association (A.N.P.S.V.) was founded on the 22nd of May in 1903. In 2003, during the celebration of the 100st anniversary of the association the A.N.P.S.V. became Royal. From then on the name of the association has been changed to Royal Dutch Pharmaceutical Students Association (K.N.P.S.V.). The K.N.P.S.V. is the national pharmaceutical organization which represents about 3300 pharmacy students from the Netherlands. The focal points of the K.N.P.S.V. are: fraternization, international and social/professional importance. The K.N.P.S.V. organizes different activities throughout the year that focus on these focal points for the members. Members are informed about the activities via the website, email and Facebook. The K.N.P.S.V. represents the students from the Netherlands during the General Assemblies of EPSA and IPSF.

In the Netherlands there are three local pharmacy associations. The oldest study association is ‘Pharmaciae Sacrum'​ (P.S.) from Groningen. The next one is the study association of bio pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy from Leiden, ‘Aesculapius'​ and last but not least the study association of pharmacy from Utrecht, ‘Unitas Pharmaceuticorum '​ (U.P.). VCSVU from Amsterdam is a trail member of the K.N.P.S.V. The VCSVU is the study association for pharmaceutical sciences from Amsterdam. Every student who becomes member of one of these student associations automatically becomes a member of the K.N.P.S.V.
