Prolira is all about brain state monitoring in routine hospital care - important to detect and treat acute encephalopathy and delirium.

Delirium (acute brain failure) affects over 3 million hospitalized patients in Europe every year. It is a potentially fatal medical emergency that regularly leads to long-term cognitive impairment (dementia), results in longer hospital admission, a 3-fold increase in mortality, and directly contributes to higher healthcare costs. Annual health system and societal costs are estimated at €320B in the U.S. and EU, rivaling costs associated with heart disease and diabetes.

To date, delirium is detected too little and too late, as detection is based on subjective and ineffective methods. It is our challenge to solve the unmet clinical need for accurate and safe detection. Our solution is an AI-enabled and simplified form of the gold standard for delirium diagnosis (EEG) for use at the bedside. A 5-minute test that confirms the state of the brain, with the potential to be as ubiquitous as a blood pressure cuff.

A recent large outcome study including 850 patients which shows a reduction in the length of hospital stay by 3 days.
