About Open Universiteit - Accounting AND Finance

The department of Accounting & Finance strives to perform top-notch research and education in the fields of accounting and finance with a special focus on sustainability.

Our research expertise covers a broad portfolio including projects in finance (corporate finance, banking, insurance, risk management, corporate governance and responsibility, household finance, behavioral finance) and accounting (financial accounting, management accounting, management control).

Within the field of sustainability, our research is concerned with corporate, financial and societal implications of sustainable business practice. We look at topics such as climate change, ESG reporting and adoption, commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, impact measurement, social performance targets in executive compensation, and cultural board diversity.

We share our knowledge with our students in the Bachelor program in Business Administration (Bedrijfskunde), the Master program in Management, our PhD program as well in postgraduate workshops and trainings.
