About NAFTC

The Netherlands is one of the world’s leading countries in agriculture, horticulture, food processing and agro/food technology. Agricultural trade is one of the pillars of the Dutch economy. Our leading position needs a strong public/private network to maintain our 2nd position worldwide in agriculture exports. “Agro and Food” has been designated one of nine top priority sectors by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs.

China, India, Turkey and Vietnam are some of the most important agriculture production and food processing countries in the world. To tap the opportunities in these markets the former Ministry of Agriculture and GMV (the Dutch sector association for manufacturers of equipment for food processing, packaging and bio based systems) set up a public/private Netherlands Agro & Food Technology Centre in China in 2008. The China office has been copied in India (2011), Vietnam (2014) and Turkey (2016). The NAFTC offices fulfil the need for support of Dutch agro/food chain companies who are interested or active in the Chinese, Indian, Turkish or Vietnamese/SE Asian market, and the need for a local representative office of the Dutch agro-food & technology-related industry.
