About foodFIRST

FoodFIRST is a programme hosted by the Dutch thinktank Socires (https://www.socires.nl/) that aims to encourage its partners to engage in an open proactive dialogue that promotes out-of-the-box thinking to improve agriculture and food security in Africa, with a special focus on making smallholder farmers in Africa more entrepreneurial. By connecting expertise, foodFIRST stimulates partners to forge impactful coalitions and to seize opportunities towards achieving SDG1: eradicating poverty in all its forms and SDG 2: end hunger, achieve food security and promote sustainable agriculture. For the coming years, foodFIRST will focus, in particular, on fostering ‘agripreneurship’ and the professionalization of African smallholder farmers and agri small to mid-size enterprises.
